Dr. Melissa Warstadt
Melissa Warstadt (she/her) recently earned her Ph.D. in Education from UC San Diego, where her research examined the social experiences of students with disabilities and other intersecting identities that may be marginalized in schools. She began her multidisciplinary academic journey at Cal State Fullerton, studying Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. She went on to earn her M.A. in Psychology, with her thesis exploring outcomes for adults with Autism. From there, she taught at a private high school, which deepened her commitment to educational equity and inspired her return to higher education. Since then, she has taught across Social Science departments in the areas of statistics, research methods, and human development, drawing on the multiple disciplinary frameworks in her training. Through the integration of multiple social science perspectives and methodologies, Melissa views interdisciplinary work as an asset for educators and members of any community.
