The Interdisciplinary Studies in Three Departments (IS3D) major at San Diego State University is a special major designed for students whose career goal or academic interest is not addressed by an existing SDSU major or major/minor pattern. Because this is a custom major, students are responsible for identifying the three departments and the specific classes within those departments that they propose for their major requirements. Individualized master plans must then be approved by both the IS3D advisers (first) and the advisers in each of the three departments (second).
PLEASE NOTE: New students cannot be admitted to SDSU under the IS3D major. Instead, they must apply under a published major and attend new student orientation for the major under which they are admitted. Such students should concentrate on satisfying General Education requirements their first semester and work on having an IS3D master plan in place prior to registration for their second semester.
